Mucormycosis is a disease caused by Black fungus. It spreads very fastly in the human body. The symptoms of Mucormycosis depends on the infection and the affected body parts.

When the infection affects the sinuses , Symptoms of Mucormycosis : 

1. Sinus infection ( sinusitis ) 

2. Stuffy nose - Nasal passages swollen with excess fluid and mucus

3. Runny nose

4. Sinus Pain

5. Fever and headache 

When the infection spreads outside the sinuses , Symptoms of Mucormycosis : 

1. Sinus infection 

2. Stuffy nose

3. Runny nose 

4. Sinus Pain 

5. Fever and headache 

6. Tissue loss inside the upper part of mouth

7. Swelling of the area around the nose 

8. Redness of the skin above the sinus

9. Redness of the eye socket

Sometimes , the below symptoms of Mucormycosis are also seen - 

10. Colour change of the skin near sinus or eye socket

11. Blurred vision or double vision

When the infection spreads to the brain , Symptoms of Rhinocerebral Mucormycosis :

When the infection spreads to the lungs , symptoms of Pulmonary Mucormycosis :

When the infection affects the skin , symptoms of Cutaneous Mucormycosis : 

1. Skin becomes painful and hardened 

2. Inflammation of the tissue 

3. Fever 

4. Spreads very slow in skin

When the infection affects the gastrointestinal system , Symptoms of Gastrointestinal Mucormycosis : 

1. Abdominal pain 

2. Vomitting of the blood 

3. Inflammation of the lining of the abdominal cavity 

When the infection spreads to the other areas of the body and becomes widespread , it is said to be Disseminated Mucormycosis.
